Decision Lens Selected by Siemens for Prioritization of Urban Development Projects

December 4, 2009

Arlington, VA— Decision Lens has been awarded a contract to provide software and services to Siemens AG, to assess the infrastructure needs of international metropolitan areas and to support the company's development of technology solutions based on those assessments.

Siemens AG, with headquarters in Berlin and Munich, Germany, is a global leader in electronics and electrical engineering, operating in the industry, energy and healthcare markets. Decision Lens' software and services will help the company develop markets in cities around the world.

Decision Lens will be used by Siemens to measure the performance of cities in terms of sustainability and mobility — that is, the logistical infrastructure cities have or may require, ensuring their economic viability.

Siemens will use Decision Lens with current and prospective client cities internationally to determine technology needs to link data, people and goods. Based on that assessment, Siemens will be able to develop specific solutions and recommendations for IT and communications, security, transportation, and accommodations that make best use of a city's current and existing physical and telecommunications infrastructure.

"Even the most sophisticated cities around the world are plagued by aging infrastructure, both in terms of transportation and information handling," explained John Saaty, CEO of Decision Lens. "Siemens is well known globally for creating the IT and physical solutions that improve logistics in urban areas, and guarantee the best quality of life for city residents well into the future. With Decision Lens, Siemens will be able to make well-informed decisions about how cities ought to invest in their infrastructures, today and tomorrow."

Besides Siemens, Decision Lens serves numerous well-known national and international commercial clients including Siemens, Johnson and Johnson, Corporate Executive Board, and the NFL, among other organizations. Decision Lens software also is used widely throughout the federal government and across the Intelligence Community, with clients in the US Navy, the Joint Staff and CENTCOM.
